Mr. Guidry has been a practicing attorney since October 1980 as a trial lawyer in both civil and criminal cases.  His experience includes over 80 jury trials in Federal and State Courts, and hundreds of judge presided trials in almost every jurisdiction in the State of Louisiana.  He is also admitted to practice in all United States Courts in Louisiana and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.

He has also, throughout his legal career, represented state and local government entities and has represented East Baton Rouge Parish and several municipalities regarding legal issues affecting those bodies.  

In addition to being a practicing trial lawyer, Mr. Guidry is a farmer, a professional musician and a writer.  He also appears as Crawdaddy, Cajun at Law, a Cajun comedy act, and performs with his touring band, Crawdaddy and the Crustaceans, playing Cajun, Zydeco and Swamp Pop music. He has appeared many times on local and national television and radio and is the author of several columns in magazines and newspapers.  He is also the author of A Litany of Louisiana Legal Letters a book of form letters for practicing attorneys.    

Mr. Guidry is also a guest lecturer at Southeastern University on safety issues, and has been a featured lecturer for the Louisiana Association of Notary Publics, and an instructor at University of Louisiana at Lafayette school of Law Enforcement.

Mr. Guidry has an undergraduate degree in politics from LSU, a law degree from Loyola, and a Masters degree in the school of hard knocks. He is a French-speaking Cajun who is not afraid to take on any issue in any forum.

  • Lead counsel for Katrina Legal Issues Task Force-reviewed and supervised all civil issues regarding liability of federal, state and local agencies for civil liability in Katrina and Rita.
  • Lead counsel for the State of Louisiana before the United States Trade Commission regarding foreign illegal dumping of products on the American shrimp market.
  • Legal Advisor on Qui Tam and other Federal and State False Claims Act and the Katrina Fraud Task Force

Criminal Experience-

  • Assistant Attorney General in the criminal division since 2002 as a felony trial prosecutor for drug and violent crime section.
  • Since 2004 was Executive Director of the Criminal Division and prosecutor for Public Corruption and other high profile political cases.

Legislative Experience-

  • Legislative laison at the Louisiana Legislature for all criminal issues and legislation.
  • Louisiana Counsel to the United States Senate, U.S. House of Representatives and GAO regarding federal investigations into Katrina and its aftermath.
